Dr. Oluwayemisi Akinrefon
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Oluwayemisi Akinrefon (who is known as Dr. Yemisi) graduated from Johns Hopkins University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Later, she received her dental degree from the University of Maryland with honors. Following graduation, she completed two years of Advanced Education in General Dentistry to obtain additional training in complex dental cases. In addition to general dentistry training, she completed her post-graduate training in Pediatric Dentistry at Howard University. I guess she really loved school!
Throughout her years of practice, Dr. Yemisi has been focused on providing the best dental experience and dental treatment for children by providing quality care in a child-friendly environment. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, she remains up-to-date with the latest recommendations for your child’s care. As a dentist trained in Advanced General Dentistry, she sees the “full picture” and makes recommendations aimed at future needs.
She is currently faculty at the University of Maryland in the Pediatric Department and has hospital privileges at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and University of Maryland Capital Region Health (formerly Laurel Hospital) She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
In her spare time, Dr. Yemisi loves audiobooks, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Oasis Kids Dental was established in 2021 with your little ones in mind. Dr. Yemisi and her fantastic team care for your child like they are their own. Oasis Kids Dental takes a preventative approach to dentistry and believes an early first visit and toddler exam help lay the foundation for creating a healthy smile for life. Dr. Yemisi has created a modern, child-friendly environment at Oasis Kids Dental to show that a trip to the dentist can be fun, lighthearted, and not something to fear. Using the latest technology in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Yemisi and her team will have your child smiling brightly all day long.
